I'm a Mormon.

Pumpkins

I guess I better get up our halloween pictures before halloween is over!
In this picture he is doing his cheese ball laugh. This kid cracks me up!

Just me rambling....

I haven't updated my blog in a while. We have actually been somewhat busy. Life is getting so much better out here in Louisville  We are making friends and we are starting to feel happy and more settled here, I guess that is a good sign. I have talked to lots of people who say it took them a year or two to really decide that they liked it here so we will see how long it takes me to truly like it here.

The ward that we are in is such an amazing ward, I feel like we know tons of people and already feel a part of the ward family. I have never felt so welcome in any ward! It is difficult to NOT make friends in the ward. There are alot of young families in our ward, like us, and I get to take Casin to play with lots of friends which has been so good for him. We do monthly field trips and babysitting swaps which is a really good thing to have.

I also really enjoy the south! Everything is unfamiliar and it can be overwhelming and frustrating at times, especially since the roads are not numbered, and there is really no rhyme or reason to the madness of the roads! However, I have always loved the south and have always wanted to live in the south! People out here are very friendly I haven't met a rude person yet (knock on wood). People are not afraid to just start up a conversation around here. This whole experience has already brought me so far out of my shell and my comfort zone.

We miss our families VERY much. The more I talk to people the more I am realizing that it is rare to have a close relationship with families, especially to have such close relationships with BOTH sides of the family. I hope that one day we will be able to have the choice/option of moving back home (or at least closer to home) to be close to our family again and of course having Utah be our backyard! I just want to let those who read this (anyone?) know that we are really enjoying our time out here and liking it more than we thought we would (even though we miss people more than we thought we would too), and the mental breakdowns are less and less and we have been feeling less lonely and more like we belong. We are happy with our decision that we have made to have this experience and feel like it is going to make us grow as a couple, as a family, and become better, less judgemental people!

We love everyone and miss you all!!

Life at Home

Casin loves elephants!! He calls them bo bo's because the elephant goes boom boom, it is really cute! My mom recently sent us a package and in it we found a "bo bo" he was so excited!

This was taken during sacrament meeting, he loves to take care of him! The bo bo needs snacks when he has snacks. It was also a rough day that day in sacrament meeting and this was the only thing that kept him quiet!

He also loves the monkey. He can't sleep without it and sometimes he carries it around all day long! He calls the monkey "money" As you can see he was very excited to find a way to combine his 2 favorite things!

He loves books! I just love this picture he is so adorable, I just adore him!!

I keep the bottom of the bookshelf empty for this reason. He also loves to drive his car that he scoots around in and park it in here. It is cute! He also loves to get into the cupboards and just sit there. He just enjoys finding little spots that he can fit into.

All tuckered out!

Recently I went to a consignment store and picked up some toys for super cheap! He got a race car track and a workshop with tools!

Of course he loves to cause trouble, he is a boy, he opens up the ottoman and jumps in it. This entertains him for hours.

Not sure how much longer he is going to be in a crib. He hasn't learned how to climb out of it yet, so that's good!

I love this little sunday outfit. I think he looks SO much like Daniel in this picture!!

Partyin' it up

Casin was invited to his first Birthday Party. He had tons of fun!

Parks, parks, and more parks

Out here in Louisville they have a plethera of parks! We spend a lot of times with other kids and moms at the  parks.

Lynn's Paradise Cafe

Friday night we had a night on the town. We went to Lynn's Paradise Cafe. This Cafe has been on food network shows mostly for its quirkiness.

Lynn's Paradise Cafe is very Kentucky. They serve the Hot Brown dish, which is a Kentucky Tradition. They have Derby Pie. And the beef is all raised in Kentucky and the cows eat the Kentucky blue grass (They made sure to mention that on their menu I thought it was hilarious)!
The Hot Brown, technically a sandwich. It was on Sour Dough bread at the bottom with turkey, topped with lots of cheese (as you can see) and tomato and bacon it was surprisingly amazing!!

My dish was grilled catfish and fries, in the middle is some banana pudding and then the hot brown. A yummy Southern meal!!

It was VERY kid friendly, they gave Casin all kinds of stuff to play with and the waitress was so friendly.

Casin loves Elephants so he was excited to see one there!

Messing around in the Gift Shop.

All this stuff was outside the Cafe.

Casin Babysat

We babysat one of Casins friends Kiya (he calls her kaka) and her little brother.

Casin was so excited all day long to babysit the baby, it is adorable how much he loves babies!

Casin had his first trip to the hospital yesterday. I took him into the pediatrician because he has been randomly throwing up with no fever, cough or runny nose so I figured the puking wasn't a big deal and he hasn't really been pooping and he would scream and cry when he did use the bathroom. He was also just super fussy and really groggy. I decided to take him into the Dr., luckily I had been given some recommendations from ladies in my ward! So I have been reluctant at taking him because they always just say go home and drink lots of fluids and he is fine.

So into the Dr. we went, just for good measure (I thought). When I talked to the Dr. he said we need to get him x-rayed and get some lab work done right away for him, he said that there is probably nothing to worry about and that he is just constipated but we need to make sure. So into the hospital we went. It was a childrens hospital and they did such a good job with him and made him and me feel comfortable. He had the x-rays first, which he didn't like at all but that was the easy part. Then he got his little arm poked, I did not like that at all for him! After we were done though they gave him a blue slushy and some stickers, he thought that was pretty cool the whole way home he just kept taking sips and saying "mmmm, juice" I am so happy they  gave him the slushy it made his day!

We got home and I figured I wouldn't hear back from the Dr. even though he said we might hear back tonight. I just thought oh it won't be a big deal and I won't even hear until later in the afternoon the next day, I kept my phone close by though just in case! Sure enough about 7:00 they called me and said "Well, his lab work is good" so then they said that his x-ray came back and that there is a very large stool and told me that this is something that kids come in for a lot but there lab tech guy usually tells them it is a moderate stool, and that they very rarely hear him say large, so they told me that this needed my attention immediately and to get it all cleaned out for him. So tonight we will be starting enemas, I swear when I signed up to be a mom no where in the job description did it say will need to do enemas. Must have been in the fine print somewhere :)

I guess we will see how the next few days go and hope that he gets all cleaned out! I feel so bad for the little guy especially since I have just been putting it off and putting it off! No wonder he has been so miserable!

Here he is in the waiting room at the hospital. He had fun waiting around and playing the "caw"

Using the Potty

He has yet to go potty but he sure does like to sit on the potty! I feel like it is progress.

Building a Fort

I went out to go do some errands and I came home to a fort that Casin and Devin had built. It was to cute!!

I love his face in this picture! He is looking at me like he is just to cool!
